Course Description

This course is an overview of the Old Testament, highlighting its organization, overall themes, historical context and major events.

Course Objectives & Learning Outcomes

As a result of taking this course students should be able to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of the content and key themes found in the Old Testament (Assignments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6).

2. Explain the main message(s), organization, theme(s), and/or characters of every Old Testament book (Assignments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6).

3.  Exhibit the ability to interpret the various messages of the Old Testament prophets in light of the covenant (Assignments 5 and 6).

4. Formulate the ability to integrate what you have learned into your own understanding of the Old Testament and into your ministry (Assignments 3 and 6).
